This is what a one-year old looks like when you turn her loose with a plate of spaghetti. Notice we did strip her down, but boy was she a mess. She has now gotten to the point that she wants to feed herself. Almost to the point she will refuse to eat it unless she picks it up. She loves using a fork and spoon and honestly she is pretty good at it. Does it change with the 2nd child? YES!!!! I don't think this would have every happened with McKenna. Ha!
I'm done when I start eating the napkin. Daddy had the bathtub ready.

Our own crocodile hunter
This is McKenna telling us about the Gila Monster.
Yes, she has a headset on and is pretending she works
at the zoo. She is telling us all the facts about this creature.
Would it surprise me if she one day worked at a zoo, aquarium,
vet? Not a bit. This girl loves animals.
Now remember use two fingers to touch and pet him
from the top to the bottom. How does she remember this
stuff?
Time for the snake.

Celebrating Mom's
Every year (since before I became a mom) I would host a Mother's Day brunch for the special women in my life. I love pulling out my china and crystal and serving "girly" food. We have always enjoyed our time together the day before Mother's Day. Now that I am a mom of two, it is even more special to me. This year I decided to take everyone to Aldridge Gardens for the day and then to lunch. Melanie decided to host lunch for us at her house so we surprised everyone with a special lunch on her deck. We had a great day together even though it was so humid and hot. I am so blessed to have these women in my life. Thanks for being such an important part of my life and my girls. Happy Mother's Day!
Birthday Girl
This is Carrington at one year old. She is such a sweet and happy baby. I can't imagine our lives without her. She has brought our whole family so much joy. She has a very loving disposition and hates to see anyone upset (especially McKenna). We can already see that she loves baby dolls and being outside. Her favorite things...eating, sleeping on mommy, swinging, riding in the wagon, dancing to music, and getting into things (drawers, cabinets, you name it). She and McKenna love each other so much. I always thought time was flying when McKenna arrived. Now having two, it goes even faster. They both are hitting milestones before I blink my eyes. It is hard to believe that this year has gone by and she is not the little baby in the picture below. My goal is to enjoy every little moment so I can remember every special time. Happy Birthday Day bugaboo!
