Carrington had just woke up from a nap. This is her checking out Hadleigh for the first time. She was not too sure about her.
McKenna, the biggest sister, watching Hadleigh.
Poor baby. Hadleigh was so low that they had to use a scoop to get her out. The scoop bruised her face. Thankfully it went away in about a day.

Looking at mommy.
Still crying-Hadleigh had trouble with her respirations when she was born. They were too fast. We had to let her correct it before we could hold her and bath her. We then found out that if they did not change she would have to go to NICU. Thank you Lord-she was fine by the end of the four hours.
Her first shampoo.
Her first bath. She loved it.

Welcome to the World-Hadleigh Elizabeth!

Mommy anxiously awaiting the cry.
Hadleigh Elizabeth-7 lbs. 9 oz.
She came out with a healthy cry and a great apgar score. The teacher in me was pulling for a 10, but she scored a solid 9. Thankful for a healthy baby girl.

This is Hannah and McKenna. They have been fchurch friends since they were very little. Hannah and her family have moved to South Korea to be missionaries. They came home for a few days to visit. They were excited to see each other. Boy! We miss them.

McKenna's First Spend the Night Company

McKenna begged me all during kindergarten for her friend Jessie to come spend the night. I told her she could when summer arrived. Needless, to say it is almost over, but we managed to have Jessie over before the baby comes on Tuesday. McKenna made a list of all the things they were going to do. Here they are playing in the play room.
Making smores at the fire pit.
Playing on the swing set. Notice who is in the mix with them. They were very good and allowed Carrington to play with them.

Making Dad's Birthday Cake

Thegirls helped make daddy's famous devil's food cake with blue buttercream icing.

YUM! Yes, I do allow them to lick the beaters even though there were eggs in the batter. It didn't kill me when I was young.
Too good!

Look-Is that Hadleigh?

Look who had to try out the swing. Everything we have brought out (swing, car seat, bouncer, cradle) Little Miss has had to try it out. I am praying she does not drag Hadleigh out by a leg so she can get in it. I will say her baby dolls have also gone for a ride.

Fireworks for the 4th of July

We had a big 4th planned. We were going to Meme and Papa's for a early dinner with all the 4th fixings (ribs, Bar-B-Que, burgers, etc.) Then we were going to drive to see Thunder on the Mountain and shoot our own fireworks. However, on Thursday McKenna came down with a virus and could not shake a temp. So we stayed home. Daddy and Carrington brought us to go plates from Meme's. McKenna was so disappointed. Later that night, my aunt, uncle, cousins, Meme, and Papa showed up with fireworks. McKenna was thrilled to be able to have some type of 4th. It was the first time in 2 days she had been off the couch. Fireworks that we shot off.
Carrington watching the quiet fireworks. We had to go inside for the loud ones.

A Mess- Now Organized!

I wanted to buy a closet system to redo a closet for the girls. So off to Lowe's I went. I got what I wanted, but it all needed to be put together. I started at 11:00 one morning. My mom came over at noon and began to help. Needless to say, we finished building the pieces and filling the closet by 11:30 that evening. We found out we are not as handy as we thought, but we did it. We laughed to we cried. Here is how it started out-A pile of clothes from the closet.
The chests and tables pulled out.
Now a newly, organized closet.
Ahhh! The nesting continues. One closet down and more to come.
